Overview
The Bridgent BDG-SBT Snow Broom Truck is designed for the second stage of winter road maintenance — sweeping residual snow and slush from the road surface after the primary snow plow has cleared the bulk of the snow. The high-speed rotary broom efficiently removes the thin layer of compacted snow and slush that remains after plowing, leaving a clean, dry road surface that improves traction and visibility for road users.
The BDG-SBT's rotary broom is mounted at the front or rear of the truck, depending on the configuration. The broom rotation speed is hydraulically controlled, with higher speeds for light, dry snow and lower speeds for wet, heavy snow or slush. The broom angle is also hydraulically adjustable, allowing the operator to direct the swept material to either side of the road.
The broom's bristle material is selected for optimal performance in winter conditions — stiff enough to effectively sweep compacted snow and slush, but flexible enough to conform to road surface irregularities without damaging the pavement surface. The bristles are replaceable, extending the service life of the broom assembly.
For airport applications, the BDG-SBT is an essential component of the runway snow removal fleet. The high-speed rotary broom can clear a runway of residual snow in a fraction of the time required by manual methods, minimizing runway closure time and maintaining airport operational continuity during snowfall events.
The BDG-SBT can be operated as a standalone snow broom truck or in combination with a heavy-duty snow plow and de-icing spreader as part of a coordinated winter maintenance convoy.
