Overview
The Bridgent BDG-FSS13 Fiberized Slurry Seal Equipment represents a significant advancement in slurry seal technology, incorporating fiber reinforcement into the slurry mix to create a surface treatment with superior tensile strength, crack resistance, and durability compared to conventional slurry seal.
The fiber addition system is fully integrated into the machine's PLC control system. Fibers are added to the mixing drum at a precisely controlled rate, determined by the programmed fiber content and the vehicle speed. The mixing drum ensures complete and uniform fiber distribution throughout the slurry mix, creating a homogeneous fiber-reinforced slurry that is applied to the pavement surface through the paving screed.
The fiber reinforcement provides several key performance advantages over conventional slurry seal. The fibers increase the tensile strength of the cured slurry layer, reducing the risk of cracking under thermal and traffic loads. The fiber network also bridges existing surface cracks in the underlying pavement, preventing reflective cracking from propagating through the new surface layer. These performance advantages translate into a significantly longer service life for the treated pavement, typically 30–50% longer than conventional slurry seal.
The BDG-FSS13 is compatible with a wide range of fiber types, including polyester, glass, and cellulose fibers, allowing the mix design to be optimized for specific performance requirements and local material availability. The BDG-FSS13 retains all the standard features of the 13m³ slurry seal equipment series, including the 13m³ aggregate bin, 4000-liter emulsion and water tanks, 276kW (375HP) chassis engine, and PLC + HMI control system.
