Overview
The Bridgent BDG-FCS0812A Fiber Asphalt Chip Sealer represents the next generation of chip seal technology, incorporating fiber reinforcement into the asphalt binder to create a significantly stronger and more durable pavement surface treatment. The addition of fibers to the asphalt binder increases tensile strength, reduces thermal cracking, and extends the service life of the chip seal layer by 30–50% compared to conventional chip seal.
The fiber addition system is integrated into the asphalt tank and mixing system. Fibers are added to the asphalt binder in the tank and mixed uniformly by the vertical spiral mixing device before spraying. The fiber content and mixing parameters are controlled through the PLC system, ensuring consistent fiber distribution throughout the asphalt binder.
The BDG-FCS0812A is particularly well-suited for bridge deck waterproofing applications, where the combination of fiber reinforcement and chip aggregate provides excellent waterproofing performance and resistance to the dynamic loads and temperature variations experienced on bridge structures. The fiber-reinforced asphalt binder creates a continuous, crack-resistant membrane that protects the bridge deck from water infiltration.
For highway rehabilitation applications, the fiber chip seal provides superior resistance to reflective cracking from underlying pavement distress, making it an effective treatment for roads with existing surface cracking. The fiber reinforcement bridges existing cracks and prevents them from propagating through the new surface layer.
The BDG-FCS0812A retains all the standard features of the 0812 chip sealer series, including the 8500-liter rapid heating asphalt tank, 12000-liter aggregate bin, Belgium JOHNSON pump, and PLC + radar speed control system.
