Overview
The Bridgent BDG-CSST0812 Semi-Trailer Chip Sealer offers a fundamentally different approach to chip seal equipment design, mounting the complete working system — asphalt tank, aggregate bin, fiber system, and all associated equipment — on a purpose-built heavy-duty semi-trailer chassis rather than a conventional truck chassis.
The semi-trailer configuration provides several significant advantages over truck-mounted designs. The trailer chassis offers superior bearing capacity and structural stability, allowing higher payload weights without the stress concentrations that can occur with truck-mounted systems. The longer wheelbase of the semi-trailer also provides better weight distribution across the axles, reducing road damage and meeting axle load regulations in countries with strict weight limits.
The BDG-CSST0812's working system is identical to the truck-mounted 0812 series, featuring an 8500-liter asphalt tank, 12000-liter aggregate bin, 1.5m³ fiber tank, Belgium JOHNSON pump, and PLC + radar speed control system. The semi-trailer configuration allows the working system to be quickly disconnected from one tractor unit and connected to another, minimizing downtime during tractor maintenance or when multiple working systems share a single tractor.
The semi-trailer design also simplifies transportation between project sites. The trailer can be left at the project site while the tractor unit is used for other tasks, and the trailer can be transported on low-loader trucks for long-distance moves between projects.
For international export, the BDG-CSST0812 can be configured to meet the axle load and dimension regulations of specific countries, with different trailer configurations and tractor unit options available.
