Overview
The Bridgent BDG-REP15 Rubberized Bitumen Emulsion Plant uses the internationally recognized McDonald technology to produce high-performance rubber asphalt, combining the superior performance characteristics of rubberized bitumen with the environmental benefits of recycled tire rubber utilization.
The McDonald technology process begins by heating stone matrix asphalt to 218°C in the heating device. The heated asphalt then enters the continuous blending shearing device, where it is mixed with room temperature rubber powder from recycled tires. The high-shear mixing action of the continuous blending device ensures complete and uniform integration of the rubber particles into the asphalt matrix.
The blended rubber asphalt is then transferred to the reaction kettle, which maintains a high temperature of 190°C to 218°C for the required reaction time. During this reaction period, the rubber particles swell and partially dissolve into the asphalt matrix, creating a modified binder with significantly improved elastic recovery, high-temperature rutting resistance, and low-temperature cracking resistance compared to conventional asphalt.
The BDG-REP15's 15 t/h production capacity makes it suitable for large highway construction projects where rubberized asphalt is specified for high-performance pavement layers. The plant can supply multiple asphalt distributor trucks simultaneously, ensuring that the rubberized asphalt supply never becomes a bottleneck in the construction process.
The use of recycled tire rubber in the BDG-REP15 provides significant environmental benefits, diverting waste tires from landfills and reducing the consumption of virgin bitumen. Many highway authorities now specify rubberized asphalt for high-traffic roads due to its superior performance and environmental credentials.
