Overview
The Bridgent BDG-ASM Aggregate Screening Machine is an essential auxiliary piece of equipment for micro-surfacing and slurry seal operations, ensuring that the aggregate used in the slurry mix meets the required gradation specifications by removing oversized particles before they enter the mixing system.
The BDG-ASM uses a vibrating screen to separate aggregate by particle size. The screen mesh size is selected based on the maximum aggregate size specified for the slurry mix design. Oversized particles that could damage the paving screed or cause surface defects are rejected and discharged separately, while properly sized aggregate passes through the screen and is conveyed to the micro-surfacing paver's aggregate bin.
The BDG-ASM is designed to work simultaneously with micro-surfacing pavers, operating alongside the paver to provide a continuous supply of screened aggregate. The machine's compact dimensions and small footprint allow it to work in the limited space available on road construction sites, and its mobility allows it to be quickly repositioned as the paver moves forward.
The vibrating screen's amplitude and frequency are adjustable to optimize screening efficiency for different aggregate types and gradations. The screen deck is easily replaceable, allowing the machine to be quickly reconfigured for different maximum aggregate sizes.
For micro-surfacing contractors working with aggregate from multiple sources or with variable quality, the BDG-ASM provides an essential quality control function, ensuring that only properly graded aggregate enters the slurry mix and preventing the surface defects and premature failures that can result from oversized aggregate in the mix.
